To achieve this, meticulous planning was essential. Our architectural design team carefully designed the extension to complement the character and structure of the existing home. Matching the brickwork was a key priority, and we sourced materials as close as possible in appearance to the original. The new hipped tiled roof was tied into the existing roofline, with a lead-lined valley created to ensure a watertight connection.
We undertook a structural breakthrough to connect the new space with the main house, reinforcing the join with steel supports where needed. Inside, the new first-floor construction was designed to marry perfectly with the existing levels, using high-quality timber joists and 18mm tongue-and-groove flooring for a solid, lasting finish.
Thermal insulation, drylining, and plasterwork were all completed to the same standards we maintain throughout our builds, with Visqueen and plyboard protection used to safeguard the clients’ driveway and home throughout the works. The extension was also fitted with A-rated double-glazed UPVC windows, ensuring energy efficiency without compromising on style.
From the outside, the extension blends effortlessly with the original building, a carefully crafted addition that feels like it’s always been there. Inside, it opened the door for the next stage of the project: a new ensuite designed to deliver both everyday comfort and long-term luxury.
