On average, homeowners will renovate their kitchens once every 10-15 years so, it can be tricky to pick styles and colour schemes that look good now and will also last until the time comes for to renew. We’ve been researching the top kitchen colour trends for 2025/2026 to get ahead of the curve and help our customers pick designs that will wow their guests for years to come.
15 years ago, the top trends for the heart of our homes included cherry woods, granite counter tops and subway tiles. While they’re still attractive designs for many, it’s undeniable that as a nation, our tastes have significantly shifted in the years since. Homeowners are now focusing on natural lighting, bright, fresh feeling kitchens and the latest in tech gadgets to make their kitchen a fun and functional space.
No matter how you go about your kitchen renovation, it’s not going to be cheap so the last thing you want is to find that post-installation that you’re filled with regrets. Here are 3 things to consider before selecting your colour palette:
Lighter colours can make a small kitchen feel larger and darker shades can make a large room feel cosier – we all know that trick. However, consider whether you want a cool or warm toned colour scheme as this too can make a huge difference in the final feel of your space.
In a large room, cool tones can make the room feel quite cold and echoey whereas a warmer tone can, you guessed it, warm it up!
Consider the amount of natural light your kitchen receives and where it’s coming from. Bright colours work well in well-lit spaces, while darker hues can create a dramatic effect in kitchens with less natural light. Do you have large bi-folding doors? Or skylights? Depending on where the light source is, this can drastically change how a colour will look within your kitchen.
If you don’t have much natural light at all, think about how you can artificially light the space with spotlights, under-cupboard strip lighting and so on, this too may change how a colour looks in your space.
Tip: When testing out paint swatches or product samples, make sure to look at them in different areas of your kitchen and also at different times of the day so you can make your decision with absolute confidence.
Ultimately, you have to live with it so no matter what trends are popping up and what others are doing, you need to get that good gut feeling about your new kitchen. If you’re feeling uncertain or you don’t absolutely love it, make sure you chat with your designer about it, they can help you to come up with practical solutions and a final kitchen plan that you’ll love for years to come.
Tiptoeing dangerously close to the once much-loved magnolia, delicate yellows are making a splash once again. Whether colour drenched across the whole room or used more subtly as an accent colour, yellow offers a bright, cheery option for kitchens and bathrooms alike.
For your kitchen we recommend two options:
Paint options we recommend: Farrow & Ball in ‘Hay’, ‘Babouche’ or ‘Dayroom Yellow’ as shown in the above images.
This one oozes elegance. Rich, deep, purple toned reds are a stunning choice for kitchen cabinets and make any space feel warm and welcoming. Paired with natural wood tones, you’re sure to be onto a winner.
Try:
Tip: Ask us about Masterclass’s Hampton Range in colour ‘Claret’ and pair with Farrow & Ball’s ‘Preference Red’
Blue kitchens are timeless. We’ve seen them throughout the years in different forms whether that be Navy paired with gold or brighter blues with lime green circa the early 2000s.
For 2026, we’re looking at soft blues to evoke a slight retro-feel. With a slight green undertone, these colours are a perfect choice for any kitchen.
We suggest:
Tip: Try Masterclass Kitchen’s Hawksmoor range in Coastal mist paired with Corian® Quartz Calacatta Natura.
The pink kitchen trend has been steadily climbing over the past few years and we’re seeing lots of customers who are ready to invest in the pretty pink kitchen of their dreams. It’s great to see that it’s here to stay albeit with a slightly redder version on the cards.
Whether you’re wanting fun and girly or mature and elegant, pink can work for your kitchen.
Fun and feminine – Go lighter but go big. Blush pink cabinets paired with light counter tops.
Rich and elegant – Add a contrasting colour, a dark blue or sage green adds some interest to your room. Pink cabinets with a deep blue island is a fabulous combination.
Tip: Try Beckermann’s metal look cabinets in 14 Esprit – M1Z Copper. Pair with Lick paint in Red 02
And finally, to round off our trend forecast, this amazing, rich purple. We’ve seen warm, bold purples over recent years, but these are something else. The cooler tones offer an alternative to the standard greys and blacks.
The world is your oyster with this one as it feels fairly neutral in comparison to our other trend forecasted colours.
If you’re feeling extra bold, try colour drenching your space. Use deep purple cabinets, paint and accessories to create a luxurious inviting room, this tends to work best in smaller spaces which have plenty of natural light.
Did you know many of our cabinets can come in any RAL colour way you can dream of? So, there’s no real limitations on colour depending on which range you go for.
