This kitchen renovation in Cheshire was designed to refresh and modernise the heart of the home. The brief: a clean, bright space that felt open and contemporary without compromising on day-to-day usability. The customer opted for sleek white handleless cabinetry, creating a crisp, pared-back look that allowed the space to feel effortlessly light and modern.
Our focus was solely on the kitchen, but its position between a vibrant dining room and a cosy lounge meant it needed to feel connected while holding its own as a distinct space. This was achieved through thoughtful layout planning and careful material choices.
At the centre of the room, a striking island acts as an anchor. With integrated appliances, a sink, and a generous breakfast bar in a warm dark wood tone, it offers multiple zones for food prep, casual dining, and conversation. This kitchen island helps define the kitchen’s footprint and encourages a natural flow between adjoining rooms.
Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry runs along one wall, housing the Neff ovens and tall fridge, while a bank of base units opposite keeps the rest of the layout open and accessible. Every unit was chosen to maximise storage without crowding the room’s generous proportions.
Using Natural Light
One of the most distinctive elements of this project is how natural light shapes the space. Large patio doors at the far end lead to the garden, while picture windows and overhead Velux rooflights bring daylight deep into the kitchen. Just beyond the island, a lower-level breakfast bar doubles as a casual dining table, making it easy to transition from cooking to mealtimes without leaving the kitchen.
While our brief didn’t include the dining or living areas, this kitchen renovation has transformed how the entire ground floor works. It now acts as a natural bridge between rooms, helping the home feel more fluid, more liveable, and more enjoyable day to day.
