Turning an unused room into a fully functioning shower room
Because the space had never previously been used as a bathroom, the project involved completely reworking the room from the ground up.
New insulated walls and flooring were installed to make the room feel warm and comfortable year-round, while the layout was carefully planned to ensure the finished shower room felt spacious and practical despite the compact footprint. A tall partition wall was introduced to create the new floorplan once replastered and tiled, the space felt completely transformed from the storage room it had once been.
A spacious shower area with a clean, modern finish
The focal point of the room is the large recessed shower enclosure from Kudos Showers, featuring a generous 1500mm sliding door and walk-in shower tray. Paired with an Aqualisa rainfall shower, the room now feels far more luxurious and comfortable to use day to day. A Keuco shower shelf keeps everyday products neatly stored without cluttering the space.
Large-format Porcelanosa tiles in soft white tones were chosen throughout the walls and floor to help the room feel brighter and more open. The lighter palette reflects natural and artificial light beautifully, giving the shower room a calm, contemporary feel.
Practical storage and thoughtful details
Sanitaryware from Villeroy & Boch was selected throughout for its clean lines and timeless styling. A wall-hung WC and floating vanity unit help maximise the feeling of space, while the illuminated mirror introduces softer lighting and practical everyday functionality. Chrome fittings and accessories were kept simple and understated, allowing the room to feel modern without becoming overly trend-led.
A carefully managed project from start to finish
Converting a storage room into a fully functioning shower room involves far more than simply fitting new sanitaryware, which is why careful planning and coordination were so important throughout the project. From the initial building works and layout changes through to plumbing, electrics, tiling and final installation, every stage was handled by one experienced team.
By entrusting the co-ordination and work to Adamsons from start to finish, the homeowners were able to enjoy the transformation without the stress of managing multiple trades themselves.
A space that now adds real value to the home
What was once an unused storage room is now a bright, practical shower room that feels fully integrated into the home. The finished result is modern, comfortable and easy to use day to day, with thoughtful storage, generous showering space and a clean, timeless finish throughout.
Most importantly, it’s a space that now serves a real purpose and is proof that even an overlooked room can become one of the most useful spaces in the house when carefully designed and professionally installed.
